| Support the American economy by buying American products!
You don't see this much anymore. Competition from overseas companies, with their cheap labor, and cheap products is making it harder and harder for American companies to compete. More and more we see business slipping away to foreign competition.
Back when we first started, we were approached by several
overseas companies who wanted to supply us with castings,
wiring harness, electronics, labor... You name it, they
wanted us to buy it. I have to admit, it's tempting. We
can buy products overseas for so much less than we can
buy it here, we could throw away a good portion of it,
and still own the rest for less money than if we were
to buy it here.
I won't do it for two reasons... One, American products are made better, and two, my conscience won't let me. If I can get it from an American company, and get it made well, I'll buy it here every time, even if it costs more. In fact, every component, with very few exceptions, is made right here in the USA. Our intake manifolds -- made in California. Our throttle bodies -- made in California and Massachusetts. Our fuel rails -- made in Michigan. Our wiring harnesses -- made in Michigan. Even the majority of our electronics are made in the USA. Every component in our system was chosen based on it's quality... Not based on it's price.
I know what you're thinking... "Yeah, that just means we are paying more"... Nope! We've never raised our prices due to paying more for our materials. It has always taken a chunk out of our profit margin. In fact, we set our price points back when we were still considering the overseas suppliers, and used their figures to determine our expected profit margin. We ended up paying more for the American products, but never raised our prices. I feel that a product is worth a given amount, regardless of what it costs us. Our products are priced based on their value, not on our profit margin. No, we do not sell the cheapest EFI system, but we do sell the BEST EFI system. We also will save you a lot of money on Dyno time, and you don't need a laptop to fine tune with our system, since no tuning is needed. When you look at the whole picture, we actually sell the least expensive system by a long shot.
